One night nurse called Anne went above and beyond to help me and make me comfortable and explained what was happening. Day nurses although polite didn’t help me or even offer to help as I have very limited mobility luckily my husband was there all day to support me to wash and mobilise to and from the bathroom. When I had to use the buzzer for a nurse it always took at least 6 mins before anyone came in. A patient needing assistance needs this to be far shorter to stop any danger.
It was the right decision to use this hospital to have my surgery with Dr. Crane. All the personnel understood our needs in concerns at every moment. We felt accompanied in the difficult times of going through surgery and the recovery aftermath. Highly recommended both, Dr. Jeremy Crane and the hospital
The doctors are excellent but the nursing care ws poor. An agency nurse was the best nurse of all for communication, empathy and timely meeting of needs. The other nurses, especially senior nurses, were insensitive, even cruel, unresponsive when spoken to politely, ignored requests for help, left incontinent patients sitting in soiled bedding for hours, despite relatives please to help them. Avoid till they improve the standards of nursing care. They should learn from the agency staff.
I had vein surgery at The Wellington Hospital and stayed overnight. The staff from theatre to ward were absolutely lovely. They were very caring and kind. The food was delicious, especially the fresh Salmon and the scrumptious crème brûlée! I felt like I was in a hotel.
Thank you all
One small piece of constructive feedback I felt it would be good to give: while it is obviously a very pleasant place to have a procedure done and to stay – the food was excellent, the nurses brilliant and attentive etc – the discharge process was unfortunately poor. I was given very little information, and that which I was given I had to pry out of the staff. I was sent home with little advice on pain management, which led to an appalling first night at home where I suffered with crippling pain and a fever, until I spoke to a Dr who told me I could take a much higher codeine dose.
I would still recommend the Wellington but that was a shortcoming that felt like a bit of a shame.
Once the operation was over I had to call for my bed to be made ask for a pillow. After care wasn’t brilliant and we had to wait two hours for my medication to take home.
Felt well cared for comfortable and looked after throughout by excellent staff - am very grateful
My admission and treatment at Wellington Hospital was great.
All members of staff were very friendly and very caring
I do not speak English as my first language but all of them were able to find ways to communicate with me and offering me a pleasant and wonderful experience during my surgical treatment
I want to thank all members of staff for all their lovely care and kindness and making me feel comfortable and safe during my hospital stay
Just fantastic
Very poor covid measures and wait times
